Summer trends are already being discussed in the fashion scene. There
1.Animal Print
Every few years animal prints come back in style. We’ve recently seen this happen with leopard print returning on just about everything: shirts, dresses, and shoes. Whether or not this will ring true for other prints like snakes and tigers is debatable, but this is one of those summer trends we’re here for!
2. Boiler Suits
Think of everything you love about rompers: how they look, how comfortable they are. Now take that up a notch by making the legs and sleeves longer and making the outfit loser. Boiler suits are more breathable, comfortable, and generally flattering than rompers. So go ahead, buy one (or three).
3. Little White Dress
You can’t wear white after labour day, but before it’s fair game. When it’s hot out you’re not going to want to wear dark, tight clothing, you’re going to want something light and breezy. This is one of those summer trends that will make summer that much more bearable.
4. Sea Shell Jewellery
It doesn’t matter the type of shell, all that matters is that you like it. Sea shell jewellery is coming back this summer, and rightfully so. Afterall, summer and shells go hand-in-hand, wouldn’t you way?
5. Knit Tanks
As comfortable as they are, knit tank tops can add to the heat during the day. However, there are a lot of activities that take place in cooler locations that knit tanks can help you get through: bonfires at night, cold museums, hanging out at the mall. The colourful patterns and designs make this one of our favourite summer trends to come.
6. Scrunchie Scarves
Scrunchies are synonymous with the 90s, and since a lot of the fashion from that era is coming back, of course these would be popular again. The thing we like about this is the twist. The scarf adds a nice touch to simple, everyday ponytails, making it a must-have on our list.
7. Colour Block
Colour blocking is a great way to experiment with fashion. This trend is a fun one that we like to see every now and then. By taking two very different (or even opposite) colours, wearing them together makes an interesting combination. We’re going to be monitoring Instagram for the bold outfits that will be posted.
8. Statement Sleeves
Bold sleeves are hard to pull off if you aren’t sure of how to wear them. From giant shoulders to wizard sleeves, there are a number of ways to style your outfits. Just make sure that whatever you do, you wear it with confidence.
9. Ear Cuffs
Every summer, ear cuff come back in style. They’re a great way to add some bling to an outfit. Whether you wear them on their own, or stack to the high heavens, this is one of those great summer trends to
10. Fringe
Fringe is always fun to wear. Wheather it’s at the bottom of a skirt or on the sleeves of your dad’s old leather jacket, it’s a creative touch to any outfit.
11. Tie-Dye
Let’s be honest: has tie-dye ever not been in style? You can wear it with just about anything, to just about anywhere, and find it in just about every colour. If you’re more of a DIY type of person, you can always try to make your own tie-dye clothing. This is one of those summer trends we will secretly wear all-year round.
12. Feather Jewellery
Whether it’s peacock feathers on a drop chain earring or silver rings in the shape of a feather, this nature inspired trend is here for the summer. Try it out with different colours, styles, and materials. There’s a lot to work with, so might as well make it a summer project.
13. Maxi Dress
Another comfortable summer classic, maxi dresses are a must-have. They’re great to have when the days are on the hotter side of the thermostat, so make sure you get a few to last this time around. You can also find some in the trendy patterns of the season: animal print, old school patterns, and tie-dye.
14. Neon
This is a trend we see reappear every so often. Whether you want to add a touch of colour to an outfit or you want to dress like a highlighter from head to toe, this is your time to sport it.
15. Floral Patterns
Of all the summer trends, this is one that we’re always happy to see. Summer and flowers go hand-in-hand, so be sure to pick up a few different styles before they’re gone.
16. Lavender Colours
This soft colour is said to be flattering on every skintone – and we agree. There’s no going wrong with a nice lavender, so might as well go all out. Many people only wear one or two items, where as others wear an entire lavender outfit. What you choose is up to you, but again, you can’t go wrong when wearing it with confidence.
17. Neo-Gothic
Neo-gothic is basically wearing an all black outfit with more contemporary pieces. Sometimes there’s a small splash of red or white, but you can add any colour you want. Since black is always in style and very sleek on all body shapes, it’s a nice way to play with textures and patterns that you might not usually test out.
18. Layered Necklaces
Layering is always in style, but this time it’s using different chain patterns, sizes, and sometimes adding pendants. Gold is a very popular choice, but what you choose to layer with is up to you.
19. Resin Jewellery
Similar to enamel, resin gives jewellery makers a lot of room to play with designs, colours, and patterns. Polyester is clear, allowing for jewellery designers to put things in it or dye it different colours you may not be able to get with other materials. It can also be poured into shapes too complicated for other materials.
20. Square Toe Shoes
The square toe shoe trend has been creeping it’s way in since early spring, but many people are on the fence about it. Many have argued that the shoe is simply ugly and should be avoided at all costs, but this isn’t the case for 2019. This year, it’s back int he mainstream fashion scene. Love it or hate it, it’s here.
